What is a Thai Yoga Massage?
Thai yoga massage is said to have originated in India over 2,500 years ago.
Through the Buddhist propagation, Thai yoga massage became rooted in Thailand, playing an important role in the heart of the temples, places of worship and for the overall health of the people of Thailand.
There are two major streams of thought in Thailand that tend to merge: The School of the North and The School of the South.
The Technique This dynamic form of massage is practiced on the floor, on a mat, wearing loose comfortable clothes. By combining yoga postures, stretching, breath work, palming and thumbing along the body’s energy lines (“sen”) and Ayurveda principles (old Indian medicine), this massage can be either energizing or relaxing depending on the pace and selected postures.
Adapting to all body types, this massage liberates muscular tension, increases flexibility, improves circulation, strengthens the immune system and re-establishes the energy balance.
Through a choreographed sequence of movements, the body is gently guided into a haven of peace and relaxation, liberating and freeing the spirit.
**It is recommended that you come to your massage wearing loose comfortable clothing and warm socks.**
